August 20, 1869 was issued a decree for the tram

30 August 1869 A contract was signed for the construction of the tram and facility in Dersaadet.
 
18 February 1870 Istanbul Tram Company was established.
 
July 31, 1871 The first equestrian tram was put into service at a ceremony on the Azapkapı-Ortaköy line.
 
August 26, 1871 First fatal car accident (Karaköy).
 
1880 Stall application was started on the trams. (He's been standing where the passenger wanted him to, and his speed was down)
 
1883 Galata, Tepebaşı and İstiklal Street, laid a tram line.
 
1899 Mounted trolley trucks (savings) were removed.

08 June 1928 Üsküdar-Kısıklı tram line, which is the most famous line of the Anatolian side, was opened with a ceremony.
 
August 27, 1932 Istanbul Tram company announced the regulation of the different tariff types.
 
1933 In order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Republic, Atatürk's entire tram and bus ve losu, with the direct orders of the company, was fully serviced (320 tram, 4 buses).
 
1936 Modern trams in Istanbul have started to work in Şişli-Tunel, Şişli-Beyazıt and Harbiye-Fatih lines.
 
16 June 1939 The Tramway Operation was nationalized and connected to the General Directorate of IETT under the Law No. 3645.
 
01 August 1953 Tunnel-connected tram line operation has been removed.
 
1954 IETT workshops, such as air brakes and electric trams with automatic doors, were made with local materials and workmanship.
 
March 16, 1955 The Anatolian Side Üsküdar and the Havalisi Tramway Company (Üsküdar-Kadıköy Public Trams Company) were transferred to IETT with all their facilities.
 
August 12, 1961 The trams adorned with laurel branches, farewell to Istanbul (European side) between sadness and tears.
 
14 November 1966 The electric trams made their last flight on the Anatolian side.
 
1967 IETT Tramway Museum opened in Kadıköy KuÅŸdili.
 
1981 Vehicle Museum was closed at the request of Kadikoy Fire Department and wagons (125 units) were sent to IETT Camp in Avcilar.
 
December 29, 1990 Nostalgic Tram, Tünel-Taksim line was put in service to the people of Istanbul said hello again.
 
1992 2 tram cars and 30 meters of original rails from the IETT Vehicle Museum were opened at the Rahmi Koç Industrial Museum in the Hasköy Lengerhane building.
 
1994 At the new IETT Museum opened at the entrance of Karaköy (Gar building), summer horse-drawn tram, horse-drawn tram stop, plate and various equipment were exhibited.
 
May 1998 The first book of the series, which describes the transportation history of Istanbul, was published as tarih Dersaadet‘ten İstanbul‘a Tramvay I Mayıs.
 
October 1999 The second book of the series, ’Dersaadet'dan İstanbul‘a II ikinci was published.
 
01 November 2003 Kadıköy-Moda tram line was put into service.
 
2005 The tram line in Kabatas-Eminonu was opened and 44 years after the Galata Bridge.
 
11 February 2010 A nostalgic tour was organized in Taksim-Tunnel line in memory of the 96th anniversary of the electric trams.
