GALIP DEDE STREET

-The name of the street is Galip dede because of the Seyh Galip who lived in Galata Mevlevihanesi

- Galip Dede Street began to take shape in the middle of the 19th century and has not changed much since the beginning of the 20th century. Galata photographs from the 19th century show that there are bookstores, coffeehouses, bakeries, antique shops and stampers on both sides of the road. There is not a single one of the cafes and bakeries, but in the 1950s, the number of stampers, which reached 35, is still open. And since 1920, the existence of the legacy remained. This is the biggest music market in Istanbul, as it has opened many shops selling musical instruments over the last 15-20 years.

-In the early 1980s, a few musical instruments dealers began to open. There are now over 30 stores
