NEVE SHALOM SINAGOG

neve salom.jpg

Built at 1951

-The architect of this building was Elyo Ventura and Bernar Motola

-The Neve Salom Synagogue was decided to be constructed in 1948 due to the insufficiency of the keneset synagogue and zulfaris synagogues due to the increasing Jewish density in Beyoglu and Galata.

-In contrast to other synagogues in Istanbul, the synagogue is very active and it is organized in the Sabbath, weddings, funerals, bar mitzy, Sunnah and religious holidays.

-The ceiling cover of the synagogue is the dome. The architectural accounts of this dome were built in the famous Badin and the dome was poured into the famous papier mache Garbis Usta. The stained glass of the synagogue was drawn at the State Fine Arts Academy and special glasses were brought from England. Marble slabs are prepared from onyx.
